the background blue color is a bit too bright, looks somewhat like a blue screen of death when the page is being loaded...

the scrolling bar can be polished a bit by using CSS stuff.

And the game...I am too lazy to download the rpg maker thingy to check...but you already said yourself on your site that rpg maker is very limited

(can't change the site for a while now - no access - server move & so on..)

yes, and no. 3k is, but rpgmaker-xp had amongst some features, the ability to actually change it's 'engine code' in a manner of speaking, but with me being the expert there , i stuck with 3000. (which had more tilesets & free resources on the web)

but what i didn't like about xp, was its combat-system, and didn't want to spend the time to develop/change it in code.
eg. 2nd screenie:
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/

3000 had a final fantasy style combat system, using sprites, with your party to the right; the enemy on the left (looks like are getting ready for a football match).

but yes, with a web-based system you can do so much more, easier with mysql, than rpgmaker's variable system.

we are now mixing different categories here

Hey ive been using RPG Maker since the 95 version. Ive been planning a New Horizons game for a long time, but the amount of work involved is too much for just one person.

I have a lot of experience with RPGM XP and suggest that great UWNH game can be made with the system. I suggest RPGM XP Over 2003 because the graphics contain twice as many px, using 32x32 instead of 16x16 for tile/sets.

In addition, scripts can be added to XP, and in my experience the XP engine is able to handle more w/ less performance loss.

However, it seems like there has been a good chunk of work done so far, so making any sort of switch would mean a loss of that work.

But in any case, I offer my help with scripting and coding for the economy and political systems. I have created systems that would work in a similar fashion for other games including a remake for EarthBound, and my current project Tournament Hero. (http://www.rpgrevolution.com/)

Likewise, I have planned out a battle system that would be simple to implement and would offer a more authentic ship to ship battle experience than the one used in the original UWNH, albeit it is much different.

You have done a good job to get the ball rolling webrv. Id like to see this project finished.

Wait.... so you already have part of the game done? I could play that part if I wanted? Not sure I understand. I do know that you should sell it for like $20 once you finish, like the game downloads at Best Buy .com heh.

I wish I could help, but I'm not tech savvy. What % is done?
